DEAR rulesBe part of Beaupre’s first Drop Everything And Read (or D.E.A.R.) on Friday, April 8, 2022! Do just what it says: Principal Clark will make an announcement for the students of Beaupre to stop everything they are doing and find a good book to read. It doesn’t matter if you are in class, outside for Gym, or at your locker – Drop Everything And Read!

With D.E.A.R., every student is free to choose a book at his or her Independent reading level to read silently for 15-20 minutes. Teachers read, too!

It’s Simple!

  1. Have a Just-Right book with you at all times on Friday.
  2. When DEAR is announced, find a quiet spot to read. Stay put! No bathroom. No drinks. Just reading!
  3. Get started right away. Eyes on the words. Silent reading the whole time.
  4. No Distractions. Build Stamina.
  5. Keep Reading!

To make the first D.E.A.R. of 2022 special, we would like to have students dress up! Students can choose to dress up as a favorite cartoon character or just bring pajamas and a stuffed animal for reading. We are hoping to make reading special and rewarding, as well as FUN!

¡Participa en el primer evento de “Deja todo y lee” (o D.E.A.R.) de Beaupre este viernes, 8 de abril! Haz justo lo que dice: El director Clark hará un anuncio para que los estudiantes de Beaupre dejen todo lo que están haciendo y encuentren un buen libro para leer. No importa si estás en clase, afuera para la educación física o en tu casillero, ¡Deja todo y lee! Con D.E.A.R., cada estudiante puede elegir un libro de su nivel de lectura independiente para leerlo en silencio durante 15-20 minutos. ¡Los maestros también leen!

¡Es muy sencillo!

  1. ​Lleva un buen libro contigo todo el tiempo el viernes.
  2. Cuando se anuncie D.E.A.R., busca un lugar tranquilo para leer. ¡Quédate ahí! No vayas al baño. No tomes bebidas. ¡Sólo lee!
  3. Empieza inmediatamente. Los ojos en las palabras. Lee en silencio todo el tiempo.
  4. Sin distracciones. Desarrolla la resistencia.
  5. ¡Sigue leyendo!

¡Para que el primer D.E.A.R. de 2022 sea especial, nos gustaría que los estudiantes se disfrazaran! Los estudiantes pueden elegir disfrazarse de su personaje favorito de caricaturas o simplemente ponerse un pijama y traer un peluche para leer. ¡Esperamos que la lectura sea especial, gratificante y también DIVERTIDA!
